Skilled Care

Nursing homes (skilled care) offer round-the-clock nursing care if someone is too sick or frail to live independently or in an assisted living residence, as well as personal care. Skilled care is also used when a patient needs to recover from an illness or surgery, but they no longer need to be in a hospital. These facilities provide rehabilitative services, such as occupational and physical therapy, and recreational activities. Some skilled care residences (nursing homes) have distinct units that specialize in the care of residents with dementia or Alzheimers disease. Please refer to the list of RIFSA providers for our Skilled Care/Nursing Homes.
